During previous articles, and certainly whenever the subject of negotiating comes up in a conversation, there are several “Do’s” and “Don’ts” I always manage to bring up. As they have been discussed in previous articles, I’m not going to try and capture them all here. Based on some recent negotiations I have observed, there are two key points I feel the need to reinforce.
First, never agree too quickly as you often will discover that you could have done much better.
Second, remember that “information is power,” so the more you have before you agree to something, the better your negotiating position and the final outcome.
